current block-Rolling_Headlines.php file with the one in the update pack.

"Rolling Headlines" is a RSS/RDF feed reading and display package that contains a new block and module for the popular PHP-Nuke CMS. The block component displays a vertically scrolling list of links gathered from RSS/RDF feeds and also lists links to the Forums and Forum topics on your site (see image at right). The speed of the scrolling can be adjusted by the user.
The package also contains a new module component for PHP-Nuke, this module is used for administering the feeds that Rolling Headlines accesses.
Rolling Headlines can also be set up to scroll individual links that you insert into the database.
Download the Rolling_Headlines.zip file to your PHP-Nuke 'modules' directory and unzip it. This will create a new directory under the modules directory called 'Rolling_Headlines', enter this directory and move the file 'blocks-Rolling_Headlines.php' to your PHP-Nuke 'blocks' directory.
Now open 'tables.sql' in your favourite text editor and edit it to use the correct table prefix for your database.
Now at a shell prompt type mysql your_db_name < tables.sql (where your_db_name is the name of your PHP-Nuke
database) to create the required database tables. This should be done
from the Rolling_Headlines directory.
Log into your PHP-Nuke site as an admin and go to the modules section. Activate the Rolling Headlines module and make it viewable to admins only. Now go to the blocks admin section and activate the Rolling Headlines block and sort out where you want it to be displayed on the page.
Finally click on the Rolling Headlines link in the modules block and add some feeds for it to display. Done!
Log into your site as an admin and click on the 'Rolling Headlines' link in the modules block. On the page you should see a form that looks something like this:
At the top there is the 'Current Feeds' section, this is where all existing feeds are listed, you can edit or delete these feeds by clicking on the [edit] or [delete] links in the left column of the table. If you choose to delete a feed you will be asked to confirm before it is deleted from the database.
Under the list of current feeds is the form you use to add a new feed, simply fill in the required details and press create. Note that 'Time Limit' is in seconds (usually should be no less than 3600) and is the time that must pass before the 'Rolling Headlines' script re-reads the remote feed file.
You can also create a special 'feed' that is basically just a bunch of links stored in your database, we call this the 'db' (database) feed. You can use this 'feed' to have individual links displayed in the Rolling Headlines block. To create the 'db' feed simply create a new feed with the url 'db'. You can then add and remove individual links from the 'db' feed as desired by clicking on [edit] next to the feed named 'db' in the feed list.
'Rolling Headlines' is a new package only in its first version, I'm sure there will be more to add to this list as time passes. If you feel you have something to add please contact me.
If you have any questions regarding use of this module or wish to report bugs please email the developer.
